Alhamdulillah earlier this morning the Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals approved our application.
It was 283 days ago that we had to make the heart-breaking decision to suspend morning prayer service, but Alhamdulillah today we can enthusiastically report that Fajr prayer will be restarted, effective immediately.
Fajr Prayer will resume beginning tomorrow at 6:30 am inshAllah. As you park your vehicles, please be conscious of neighbors who may be sleeping and follow the direction of our attendants in the parking lot. Parking on neighborhood streets is strictly prohibited. A full debrief will be provided after prayer.
Over the past months, the leadership team at MIC has worked tirelessly to provide Fairfax County with the necessary documentation to support our application which included reevaluating a 10 worshipper restriction on Fajr prayer. MIC had to retain council, hire technical consultants and conduct numerous traffic and sound studies. Within the last 2 months alone, MIC has put in place substantial landscaping in an effort to reduce noise and light impacts to the surrounding community. In sum, MIC has invested significant resources to ensure that our community has the ability to worship and use our center the way it was intended.
Resumption of Fajr was a community effort, a Saddaqah Jarreeah, that will benefit us in this life and the next inshAllah, please donate generously to be one of our supporters who helped bring Fajr back to the community. For everyone that supported the center financially during this time, thank you and we hope to have your continued support.
No amount is too small, please take a moment and donate now. All donations are tax deductible:
JazakAllahKahir and thank you,
